Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen an ex-midwife and nurse in Norway. Her birth date was
April 25 the year 1969, in Katy. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a
Swiss engineer. The couple were married in 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's
brother and was born on February 15, 1967. Renee was part of the drama group in
high school, and was interested in acting. She took an acting course at the
University of Texas (Austin) and started to think about acting as a profession.
She was determined to act following her graduation, however Hollywood can be a
difficult field to break into. Renee decided not to quit Texas and went to
audition in Houston to be cast in roles. Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood
rising star) was her friend while she was on set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II:
The Next Generation (1994). Renee was able to observe him working on a project
that interested her. She auditioned , and was chosen for the role in Love and
A.45 (1994). The role was a success that earned her the critical praise that
she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Then, she was offered a role in The
Whole Wide World (1996) which was her first big break. Cameron Crowe was busy
with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was thinking about
such actresses as Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei,
until he was introduced to Zellweger's role in The Whole Wide World (1996). He
auditioned Zellweger to be sure the actress was in fact his Dorothy Boyd. Renee
then followed her enormous success with a few small independent films. After
receiving more praise from critics and confidence, she decided to reenter the
world of big-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep starred with her in One True
Thing (1998). She also played in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) alongside
Jim Carrey and shortly after, began dating Carrey. In the role of the title
character in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
