Yvonne Joyce Craig
Yvonne Joyce Craig (May 16, 1936 from 1936 to August 17, 2015), was an American actress, ballet dancer and choreographer. Her most famous work is for her roles in Batman's television series from the 1960s Batman as well as Marta who played an Orion slave girl sporting green skin in the Star Trek 1969 episode "Whom Gods Destruction". The Huffington Post referred to her as "a pioneer in female superheroes" on TV. Yvonne Craig was born and raised in Taylorville, Illinois. Her family relocated in 1951 from Illinois to Dallas. In Dallas, she attended W. H. Adamson High School in Dallas as well as Sunset High School. However she was not able to finish her education because she had only "one credits for PE". Craig was recognized by Alexandra Danilova (a ballerina and teacher) and was accepted into the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, becoming its youngest member of the corps de ballet.
